Do us a favor?

Kaspersky is an anti-virus and "online security" software suite. They have decided that getclicky.com is a malicious tracking service and have blocked access to it for anyone using their software. I have contacted them more than once and they refuse to acknowledge the problem and just send me generic form responses about the steps I need to take if I'm having problems accessing the internet. However, I have been contacted by at least 10 unique users who have pinned down the problem to their software. When they disable it, suddenly they can access getclicky.com. Hmm, amazing coincidence, that.

I figure, if they suddenly get a bunch of support requests specifically for problems with getclicky.com, maybe they'll fix it. It doesn't matter if you actually use this product, we're just asking you to submit a support request for this problem. Tell them you use their online security software and when it's enabled you are unable to access getclicky.com, but you can access all of the other sites you regularly visit, and when you disable their software, you can then access getclicky.com.

We're very thankful to any of you who are able to help us out with this issue. It is a serious issue, as this product has a fairly large install base.

Consider this a birthday gift from you to me. I turned 31 today and I'm feeling awfully old. :(

Happy Birthday!!! If you're feeling old now, just wait until you turn 35! I don't know if there is anything I can do to help with this though. I don't even like Kapersky, and I only use AVG.

who wants anti virus like that? clicky is great, who would want to block it? Avg is fine and its free and effective. We all use AVG here.

I don't use that service, but GetClicky is anything but malicious. That's bunk. You have a fabulous service at a very low price.

Additionally, your customer service is exceptional. Sean has ansswered numerous questions I have had, alwasy exceptionally fast, and he has apologized for the "delay."

No apologies needed.d

I love GetClicky and I recommend it for any bloggers like me who are small-time writers.

For big-time sites, I recommend it as well.

Its user-friendly interface is awesome.

I use Norton/Symantec and it has no problem with GetClicky.

Anyway, long story short: GetClicky is an A-plus.

Happy Birthday Sean! I can't even remember 31! After a long online chat with Kapersky today, I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling their product and I can now see getclicky.com. I am using the Kapersky Internet Security 2009 product. (They also have an Anti-Virus product.) The tech rep offered this advice (before we decided to uninstall because I did not have all of the features installed) to add a site to the allowed sites:
VERSION 2009 - ADD URL (WEBSITE) TO TRUSTED:
1. From the main Kaspersky page, Click "Setting" at the top of the page
2. Highlight "Anti Malware" (on the left)
3. On the left, next to "Web Traffic" and "Enable Web Traffic Protection", Click the "Settings" button
4. Under the "General" tab, under "Trusted URL's" - Click "Add New Item"
5. Under "Edit URL address mask" type in the website - The format MUST be similar to: AND IT IS IMPORTANT TO PUT THE STAR (*) AT THE END
6. Click "OK"
7. Click "OK"
8. Click "Apply" and "OK"

Nowhere does it indicate on the page that the star is needed when you are adding trusted sites, so maybe this will help someone else... oh - and the brackets on both ends of the url are not to be entered, but a young person like you probably already knew that! :)

This seems to be a common error today. The solution is to add this website to the trusted URLs list. Below explains how to do that.

To add a website to the Trusted URLs list:
Close the web browser.
Open Kaspersky.
Click Settings in the upper right.
Click Anti-Malware on the left list.
Click the 3rd settings button on the right, next to Web Traffic.
Click + Add new item.
Enter the web address in the same format as the example: http://*.yoursite.com/*
Click OK 3 times to close the Settings windows.
Close Kaspersky
Retry the web site.

Based on the responses you have posted here it seems they are still not acknowleding the *true* problem, which is that our site is blocked by default, when it shouldn't be. Grr.

Blocking your site for no reason is illegal, and it can cost them a lot of money unless there can be reasonable beleives from kasperly that your javascripts can cause harmful damages etc..

I recommend you spend $300 to have your lawer send them a formal letter about that, and I am confident they will allow your site.

A good idea will also be to file a complaint at your local court or whatever jurisdiction is legitimate for theses actions in your area

You got it! One of my clients actually uses Kaspersky so I am going to submit a ticket tonight and then call tomorrow and request they resolve this.

I use kaspersky since ages, but have never faced this problem, i use their complete internet security suite, i have been accessing clicky and still do. I feel the problem is only with their standalone antivirus and not with the bundled internet security suite package which also includes antivirus

I do not use Kaspersky (used it in the past), my antivirus software is NOD 32 - no problems with Clicky until now.

This is an off-the-wall suggestion, but why don't you join oDesk, which is full of Russian developers and freelancers, and post a job for someone who speaks Russian to call them on the phone during their business hours and get to the bottom of it.

This occurred to me because my developer is a Russian, and we recently installed a membership site package that is developed in Russia and which has a reputation for being difficult to install and get set up. But having a developer in Russian who speaks Russian really greased the path, and we got great support and got it up and running quickly.

It clicky is not malicious, but it is blocked by the banner ad blocker withing the Kaspersky Internet security suite. The word "click" is in the database and thus the site is blocked.

Hopefully they can whitelist it for you, but it is entirely up to them if it is possible.

I got a standard automated response first, but after I complained that it does not help - I got second email from them saying that I need to submit request to a different place
