Clicky WordPress plugin now available

There some problem on wordpress 2.12 with the theme Nick La GlossyBlue 1.3.
when I setup the plugin on the wordpress,then the home page turn to blank,and nothing on it.
I do not know why! But I realy want such plugin on my blog.

Hmm, that's no good! What did you enter in for your site ID? Did you leave the semi-colon at the end of that same line, after your site ID?

Like Vitor, my wordpress first got crazy, but after editing the php file by writing my Clicky ID, everything is right now.
But how can I be sure it works?? I've activated my Clicky plug-in in the Wordpress interface, it looks good, like any other plug-in. But I don't have any proof it works. Hi Sean. I tried the plugin. On activation (which failed), I got an error about "header information cannot be modified. Already sent my wp-includes/pluggable.php" (or something along those lines).

It also messed up my blog entries. I get the character '' after pretty much every word in my posts. Hope that helps. I haven't had time yet to go through the code proper and check. Will let you know if I find anything.

Ok, copy pasting the character didn't work. It was a capital 'a' with a tilde or bracket on top.

I can't believe how many different problems this is causing, based on how simple the plugin is.

Well, I just uploaded a new version of the plugin. I don't know if it will fix any of your problems, as I am unable to duplicate any of them, but please give it a try.

Please ensure you take the following steps before activating this plugin:
* Edit the file from WITHIN the WordPress plugin interface to enter in your numeric site ID.
* Make sure you leave the semi-colon on the end of the line after your site ID.

If you have problems with this plugin, please report the following details here:
* Your version of WordPress
* A list of all other plugins you have installed
* Very specifically, what the problem is. Is the screen blank? Mess up the formatting? PHP errors shown? A screenshot could also be handy, as Thomas pasted in above. (Although I can't see any problems in that screenshot, Thomas!)

Informagiques - it doesn't look like it's working as I don't see the plugin output in your source code. You still have your old tracking code installed. Make sure you remove that before trying out the plugin.

After you have activated this plugin, view the source of your page and you should see a big chunk of code at the very bottom, marked like so:

If you are seeing that, then the plugin has been installed and is working correctly.

Oh, are any of you using WP-CACHE? Please be sure to delete your cache after installing the plugin, otherwise the plugin won't start working until your cached files start expiring.

Sadly, the plugin isn't working for me either. Here's my situation:

WordPress 2.2 with these plugins: Akismet 2.0, cforms 4.8, FeedBurner FeedSmith 2.2, Flexible Upload 1.5, iMP Auto Slimbox 1.0, Share This 1.4, Sphere Related Content Widget 1.2, and WP-Cache 2.1.1

Yes! I did clear my cache and even disabled the WP-Cache plugin. I also followed the instructions given.

Lol! What a farce!

Considering they do everything pretty amazingly, charge almost nothing (and sometimes nothing), and are incredibly responsive to any problem (I know, I've e-mailed), I'd consider this more a rookie mistake than a farce.

What is this issue with free?

I'd rather pay $100 for a good piece of software than get something for free that rips open my site.

Personal bloggers might not have a problem with third party code bringing down their whole site but as a corporate user and an small business selling online, an hour of downtime could lose me nearly $500 depending on what time that is.

I have no issue with rookie mistakes; rookie mistakes that totally disable my site for visitors are what I call a farce.

Yah, this whole fiasco has been pretty embarrassing. But the feedback hasn't helped me figure out the problem, as basically I have gotten nothing but "it doesn't work" or "it broke my site". It's hard to bug fix when I have nothing specific to go off of. As well, I don't know how many people it IS working for, obviously people with negative experiences are going to be more vocal. I have had feedback from at least three people that it works fine for them, and it works fine on my install of WordPress. But how many more are there that are having no problems and life is dandy?

It's equally frustrating that the plugin is SO SIMPLE, that it unfathomable that it could break anything! Seriously, if you know programming, or even if you don't, take a gander at the code and wonder how something as simple as adding a few lines of HTML to your footer could possibly break WordPress. There is nothing fancy going on here.

The plugin may cause a parsing error in wordpress' RSS-Feed:

This error is caused by a white space after the last closing php-tag in the script.

There isn't any whitespace after the closing PHP tag. Your text editor may have added it when you edited and saved the file, as some editors do for reasons unknown.

You know what? I'm such a retard. I enabled the WordPress admin ignore function. That is exactly why the script wasn't showing up! I see you coded it so the code wouldn't even be added to the page if the user browsing it is the admin. I disabled this function and it now works perfectly! I'm sure it also does even when I have the admin ignore function is enabled, I just won't be able to see it in the page source.

This may be the problem that many people are having. I didn't think that the admin ignore function would completely stop the code from being added to the page.

Could be. Maybe that should be disabled by default. Although most of the problem reports I have received are that the person's blog basically exploded when this plugin was installed. I'll consider changing it with the next update. A Clicky user dedicated some time to making the plugin better, including a web interface instead of having to edit the plugin manually. That will be a nice change too.

Plugin's not working for me. Code is not showing up on page source. Nothing is "broken" on the site, just no stats are registering.

-I've installed and activated the plugin,
-unchecked the "ignore admins" option
-when viewing page source there's no "clicky stats" at the bottom.

-I'm running WP 2.2.1
-using a boatload of good plugins, too many to list.

Some possible scenarios:

I'm not familiar with the "wp_footer" hook which is supposedly required, but my theme DOES have a footer.php, so I don't know if that would be an issue.

Also, what is this talk about putting a ":" after the siteID? When I do that in the clicky options panel, it says it's not a valid ID, and to please enter a "valid ID"

Do I need to edit the plugin in the plugin editor? If so what code needs to be changed?

If this plugin doesn't work, should I just try using the regular code? Maybe that would work?

John it looks like you are using an older version of the plugin. The new version doesn't require you to edit the file itself, instead it uses the WP database to manage its settings. I'm not sure how you got the older version as it hasn't been available for over 3 months now. So grab the new version from the goodies page and see if that works for you. If not, try putting in the code yourself, as you mentioned. The plugin is meant simply to make it easier to get Clicky setup on your web site. It has a few extra features beyond that but realistically, you'll be just fine with setting it up yourself.
